Business Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE
Working in a global matrix organization, the Business Manager is responsible for the overall business operations and manage strategic initiatives in Indian market to drive the profitable growth in commercial vehicles and off-highway vehicles. The position is responsible for planning and executing the reginal marketing and product management strategies based on Traction global vision. It is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all functions including sales, marketing, operations, procurement, HR, Finance and IT to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the business operations in India.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the company’s goals and objectives for commercial vehicles and off-highway vehicles in the Indian market.
- Collaborate with the global marketing team to work out and implement marketing strategies to promote the company’s products and services in the Indian market.
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Develop knowledge of competitive products, and portfolio value propositions and work with functional teams to drive improvements.
- Develop sales strategies consistent with the BU's long-term growth strategy establish the sales plan and identify critical initiatives to form the roadmap to achieve goals.
- Ensures the integrated commercial success of the organization to drive business growth and market share, enabling the organization to achieve growth objectives in India.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage budgeting and financial forecasting for the Indian operations and monitor and analyze key performance indicators to track the progress of business initiatives.
- Develop and implement a strategic sourcing strategy and establish robust vendor management processes that align with business objectives and market conditions in India.
- Cascade the global management system in India and drive innovation and continuous improvement in business processes aligned with Nidec companies’ good practices.
- Oversee the HR, Finance, and IT functions to support the business objectives drive growth in the Indian market, and ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent as required. MBA is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in industrial products/solutions in India, including 5 years in a leadership role at least, the experience in Automotive and Commercial Vehicle industry is preferred.
- Deep understanding of the Indian market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- In-depth knowledge of the Indian business environment, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in a senior management role, with a focus on business development and operations in the Indian market.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and the ability to motivate people.
- Travel up to 50% required.
