Overview: The IC Layout Engineer plays a crucial role in the organization by designing and developing integrated circuit layouts ensuring the physical implementation meets the design specifications and quality standards. They collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality products while adhering to project timelines and engineering principles.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement IC layouts using industrystandard EDA tools.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to understand design requirements and constraints.
  • Perform layout vs. schematic (LVS) and design rule checking (DRC) to ensure layout accuracy and integrity.
  • Optimize layout designs for performance area and manufacturability.
  • Conduct physical verification and debug layout errors.
  • Coordinate with process engineers to address technology nodespecific layout requirements.
  • Support tapeout activities and engage in postlayout extraction and simulations.
  • Stay updated with emerging IC layout methodologies and tools.
  • Contribute to design reviews and provide layout design recommendations.
  • Document design and layout processes methodologies and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in IC layout design for analog/mixedsignal integrated circuits.
  • Proficiency in using Cadence Virtuoso and layout automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor process technology and layout effects.
  • Indepth knowledge of DRC/LVS checks and physical verification methodologies.
  • Ability to optimize layout for reliability signal integrity and manufacturability.
  • Experience with parasitic extraction tools and postlayout simulation.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills in resolving layout issues.
  • Good understanding of EDA tool flows and scripting languages like Skill and Perl.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
