Role Summary:
The Accounts Executive operates at the branch level in the Consumer Goods company and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reports, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and managing various accounting responsibilities. This role involves routine branch or depot accounting tasks, distributor management, reconciliations, and statutory compliance. Proficiency in SAP and knowledge of TDS, TCS, and GST are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Closure - Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reports and manage the monthly closure of books.
Conduct a monthly review of the trial balance and develop action plans to address discrepancies or issues.
- Compliance - Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to accounting practices.
- Vendor and Customer Related - Handle vendor and customer code creations, vendor payments, vendor reconciliations, and customer deposits efficiently.
- Reconciliations - Perform bank reconciliations, distributor account reconciliations, and ledger scrutiny to maintain accurate financial records.
- Claims Processing - Manage procurements at the branch level and process primary and secondary distributor claims accurately and timely.
- Statutory Compliance - Ensure timely statutory payments, monthly and quarterly returns of TDS, and interact with GST departments as required.
- Audit Interaction - Collaborate with internal and statutory auditors to ensure and achieve a high audit rating.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in branch or depot accounting in any industry of 4+ years.
- Must have hands-on experience with SAP and advanced Excel (vlookup, hlookup, pivot charts, formatting, formulas etc)
- Tax Knowledge: In-depth understanding of TDS, TCS, GST regulations and compliance requirements.
- Must be a B Com or M Com.
- Exhibits a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in managing financial data and reports.
- Demonstrates strong analytical abilities to review financial statements, identify discrepancies, and develop corrective measures.
- Manages time effectively to meet deadlines for monthly closures, reconciliations, and statutory filings.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with team members, auditors, and external stakeholders, ensuring all interactions are professional and constructive.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills to handle discrepancies in accounts and to develop practical solutions to issues.
