Job Summary

Job Profile Summary:

Define business processes and system alignment. Strategic partner, acting as liaison between the user community (Product, Program and Project stakeholders) and the BTS Portfolio Office staff (both onshore and offshore). Resolve system problems to ensure Portfolio governance and processes run smoothly. Working with business departments, drive process improvement through seeking out and identifying opportunities and business process definition by defining and documenting processes and procedures. Assess and document training needs, communicate existence of new process. Document business processes, training procedures, standard operating procedures, project status, etc. Expertise in more than one area. Develops creative solutions and drives change.

Job Description/ Essential Functions:

  • Conducts business process evaluations, interviewing internal and external customers, to gain knowledge of both business and technical requirements.
    • Familiar with Agile and Waterfall Methodologies.
    • Understands Portfolio governance and practices.
    • Understand the basic principles between Project, Product, Program and Portfolio.
    • Has knowledge on Demand Management, Work Management, Resource Management, Capacity Management, Financial and Benefits Management as it relates to Portfolio function/services.
  • Considers the business implications of workflow and processes to the current business environment.
  • Create reports, research, analyze, and integrate data to identify and track trends. Adjust portfolio/process direction. Report vital information to management/business partner.
    • Able to conceptualize and develop portfolio data visualization of current portfolio state.
      • Familiar with data flow of Project, Product, Program into Portfolio view.
  • Understanding and administration of Portfolio tool like Planview.
  • May require performing duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.

Job Complexities & Impact:

  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and established policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots a wide variety of complex problems and identifies solutions within Portfolio applications and functional expertise.
  • Perform Data Analysis by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Makes recommendation for continuous improvement through analysis of current processes and tool utilization.

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used:

  • Has knowledge on traditional PMO governance/processes and SAFe’s Lean Portfolio Management.
  • Requires strong Analytical skills.
  • Has knowledge of general business environment/operation and has general cost benefit awareness.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in order to define business and technical parameters.
  • Has experience and knowledge on Planview or any related Portfolio Management tool and PowerBI.

Education:

  • Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of directly related experience.

License or Certification:

  • PMP Certification (Project Management Professional) preferred.
  • SAFe Agilist Certification preferred.

SAFe Lean Portfolio Management Certification preferred.
