Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Vice President of Construction to lead and oversee all aspects of our construction operations. This individual will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the construction department, developing and implementing long-term construction goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the entire construction process, from project inception to completion, including pre-construction planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and quality control.
  • Manage construction budgets and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and architects/engineers.
  • Select, evaluate, and manage the performance of general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive safety program to minimize accidents and injuries on construction sites.
  • Manage a team of construction professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity in construction operations.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest construction trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments, such as engineering, design, and finance, to ensure project success.
  • Represent the company at industry events and meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a senior construction leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Excellent financial management skills with the ability to develop and manage construction budgets.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in construction management software and project management tools.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Strong understanding of construction methods and materials. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project). A valid driver's license. PMP certification is a plus
