About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our Sports Content Acquisition strategy. This role requires a strong network in the sports and media industry, proven expertise in negotiating high-value rights deals, and the ability to shape our OTT platform's sports portfolio. The candidate will drive partnerships, oversee acquisition pipelines, and mentor the team to ensure we deliver a world-class sports offering to our subscribers.

Key Responsibilities


• Define and execute the sports content acquisition strategy for the platform (live rights, highlights, archives, originals, documentaries).


• Lead negotiations with federations, leagues, broadcasters, and production houses for premium sports properties.


• Build and sustain long-term partnerships with sports bodies and rights-holders.


• Anticipate market movements and competitor strategies to maintain leadership in sports content.


• Collaborate closely with marketing, product, tech, and legal to maximize acquired rights' value.


• Mentor and guide the junior acquisition team, fostering growth and industry best practices.


• Represent the platform at industry forums, conferences, and with sports federations.

Qualifications & Skills


• 10–15 years of experience in sports content acquisition, broadcast, or OTT media.


• Proven track record of negotiating and closing high-value sports rights deals.


• Strong network and relationships with sports federations, leagues, and industry stakeholders.


• Strategic thinker with the ability to balance creative vision, audience demand, and commercial viability.


• Expertise in deal structuring and ROI analysis.


• Deep knowledge of sports consumption trends in India and globally.


• Strong leadership and mentoring skills; ability to manage teams and cross-functional projects.


• Excellent communication, persuasion, and stakeholder management skills.
