The MissionYou are the Architect of the Future . Most businesses are stuck in on-premise data centers or legacy VMs. Your job is to show them the path to the cloud. You will design secure, scalable, and cost-effective "Landing Zones" on the Google Cloud Platform and convince CIOs/CTOs why GCP is the best home for their applications.What You Will DoMigration Strategy: Assess client legacy environments (VMware/Hyper-V) and propose the right migration path: Lift & Shift (Rehost) vs. Modernize (Refactor to Containers).Landing Zone Design: Architect the foundational setup—Organization policy, Resource Hierarchy, IAM, and Network Topology (Hub & Spoke)—ensuring the client starts on the right foot.Sizing & Costing: Master the Google Cloud Pricing Calculator . You will translate a client's physical server inventory into a precise GCP Bill of Materials (BOM), optimizing for Committed Use Discounts (CUDs) and Spot Instances.Technical Objection Handling: When a CISO asks, "Is my data secure?" or a CFO asks, "Why is the cloud expensive?", you provide the technical and financial answers that close the deal.The Tech Stack (Your Arsenal)You need strong proficiency in the "Core Infrastructure" pillars:Compute: Compute Engine (GCE), Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).Modernization: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Anthos (Google Distributed Cloud).Networking: VPC Design, Shared VPC, Cloud Interconnect/VPN, Cloud Armor (WAF).Migration Tools: StratoZone (Assessment), Migrate to Virtual Machines (M4VM).IaC: Basic understanding of Terraform for infrastructure automation.Who You AreThe SysAdmin Turned Consultant: You likely started as a System Administrator or DevOps Engineer and realized you enjoy talking to humans as much as servers.The Network Savvy: You know the difference between a Public and Private Subnet, and you can explain CIDR ranges without blinking.The Certified Pro: Google Professional Cloud Architect certification is highly preferred. Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) is mandatory.The FinOps Mindset: You don't just provision resources; you provision them cheaply .
