This is a senior, hands-on role for an expert who loves to solve the most challenging technical problems. You will support architecting, designing, and implementing robust firmware for our next-generation diagnostic devices. As a technical leader, you may occasionally mentor other engineers, drive best practices, and ensure our embedded systems are safe, effective, and compliant with all regulatory standards.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Design and document firmware architecture for Class II/III medical devices, including real-time embedded systemsDevelop and maintain C/C++ code for microcontrollers and embedded processors with focus on reliability and performanceImplement and validate low-level drivers, communication protocols, and control algorithms for regulated device environmentsIntegrate firmware with hardware and software subsystems, ensuring compliance with medical device standards and system requirementsDiagnose and resolve system-level issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers, and other industry-standard toolsThe essential requirements of the job include:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field with 8+ years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of professional experience in embedded systems and firmware developmentExpert-level proficiency in C and C++ programming for resource-constrained embedded systemsDemonstrated experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal firmware developmentHands-on experience with communication protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, and USBIndustry background in control systems and firmware development for stepper and DC motor applicationsIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Strong knowledge of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and peripherals (e.g., ADC, DAC, Timers)Experience developing bootloaders and working with embedded LinuxStrong thread, task, and ISR understandingsFamiliarity with risk management practices (ISO 14971) and cybersecurity principles for embedded devicesExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsJoin our winning team today.
