Together, we bring MORE change to the world.Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible.We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer, Firmware Verification to act as the technical and project leader to architect for our firmware test and verification strategy. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role for an expert who has deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and innovation to ensuring embedded software is robust, safe, and ready for regulatory scrutiny.You will be responsible for designing the entire verification ecosystem for our instrument firmware—from architecting scalable automation frameworks to developing and executing the formal test protocols that prove our products are safe and effective. You will build the systems and provide the objective evidence that ensures our firmware is ready for the clinic.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Develop and maintain end-to-end firmware verification strategies and reusable test automation frameworks for diagnostic/medical devices using Python and firmware engineering tools/API/SDKDesign and execute formal verification protocols and automated test suites covering black-box and white-box testing of low-level drivers and complex system behaviorsBuild and sustain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments for automated, repeatable firmware testing on target hardware platformsAuthor verification documentation compliant with IEC 62304 and FDA submission standards, including test plans, protocols, and reports for regulated diagnostic/medical devicesIntegrate automated firmware tests into CI/CT pipelines using DBS Tools and represent firmware team in cross-functional product core teams for requirement clarification and compliance trackingThe essential requirements of the job include:Bachelor’s degree in computer/electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in embedded systems development and testingMinimum 6 years of hands-on experience testing and verifying embedded software/firmware for robotics, motion control, thermal control, sonication, or optics using Helix, TestRail, Zephyr, Jenkins, and GitLabMinimum 5 years of experience developing test automation frameworks in Python and working with embedded C/C++ in production environmentsMinimum 4 years of experience designing, building, and executing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test platforms for embedded systems validationMinimum 5 years of experience in regulated industries such as diagnostics, medical devices, avionics, or automotive including hands-on debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and sensor logging toolsIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Direct, in-depth experience working under IEC 62304 guidelines.Experience with formal software V&V processes under an ISO 13485 Quality Management System.Join our winning team today.
