Backend Developer / / E-commerce)

Work Mode: Remote
Experience: 2–4 years
Duration: 3 months (extendable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, customize, and maintain backend services using and
  • Design and manage REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints for web and mobile clients.
  • Integrate and manage PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, queries, and performance optimization.
  • Implement and customize key e-commerce features such as cart, checkout, orders, payments, shipping, inventory, and discounts.
  • Work with authentication/authorization mechanisms (JWT/OAuth) and ensure secure API integrations.
  • Integrate third-party services like payment gateways (Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal) and other external APIs (shipping, email/SMS providers).
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of backend systems.
  • Write unit tests and maintain high-quality code using tools like Jest, Mocha, and Supertest.
  • Collaborate with frontend and mobile development teams to deliver seamless features.
  • Deploy and manage backend services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, Vercel, or Netlify).

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with (preferred).
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of REST API and GraphQL design principles.
  • Familiarity with ORM frameworks and Docker.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
  • Experience with Redis (for caching and session management).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and background job processing (e.g., BullMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Strong understanding of security best practices (encryption, CORS, CSRF, XSS prevention).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with ElasticSearch / Meilisearch for product search.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Previous experience in e-commerce platform development.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL subscriptions or WebSockets for real-time features.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: Up to ₹80,000.00 per month
