Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument, India Reliable PBX Corp Full time

We are developing a mobile-first application built on (wrapped as a PWA with Capacitor) and need a backend developer who can power the real-time, data-driven experiences our users expect.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing APIs, real-time communication flows (WebSockets / Pusher), and a recommendation engine that personalizes the user experience. Our backend stack relies on API routes and PostgreSQL as the core database.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services and APIs to support the mobile PWA.
  • Implement real-time features using Pusher and/or WebSockets for chat, notifications, and live updates.
  • Build and optimize a recommendation engine to personalize user content and experiences.
  • Model, query, and optimize data in PostgreSQL (with attention to performance and scalability).
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver seamless API integrations.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with robust error handling.
  • Ensure scalability and reliability of backend services.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with and experience building APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
  • Experience with API routes or integrating backend logic into projects.
  • Deep understanding of real-time communication (WebSockets, Pusher, or similar).
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, indexing, migrations.
  • Familiarity with caching strategies (Redis, in-memory, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, sessions).
  • Experience with Git and modern CI/CD workflows.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with recommendation systems (collaborative filtering, content-based, ML-driven).
  • Familiarity with message queues / event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis Streams).
  • Experience with scaling real-time apps to thousands of concurrent users.
  • Background in cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Knowledge of Prisma ORM or similar tools for PostgreSQL.

Pay: ₹56, ₹72,000.00 per month
