Impact on the Business/Function

The incumbent will be responsible for managing a Model Development function of bespoke analytical products, services and solutions to help the Regulatory Compliance function identify, measure and mitigate emerging regulatory risk. The candidate will also need to undertake the role of a model owner and proactively manage the emanating risk exposures owing to Model risk policy changes.  Promote a culture of data driven decision making, aligning short term decisions and investments with longer term vision and objectives Help the business to manage regulatory risk in a more effective, efficient and commercial way through the adoption of data science (AI/ML and advanced analytics) Support communication and engagement with stakeholders and partners to increase understanding and adoption of data science products and services. Collaborate with other analytics teams across the banks to share insight and best practice. Foster a collaborative, open and agile delivery culture Build positive momentum for change across the organization with the active support and buy-in of all stakeholders Stakeholder and Sponsor feedback and engagement IMR/Audit/Assurance Findings Efficiency and effectiveness of products & services Requirements University degree in technology, data analytics or related discipline or 12+ years of relevant work experience in computer or Data Science Understanding of Regulatory Compliance, risks and direct experience of deployment of controls and analytics to manage those risks. Experience in Financial Services (experience within a tier one bank) or related industry Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and HSBC’s corporate culture Experience of agile development Have strong leadership and management skills – ability to effectively manage across peers and stakeholders spread across multiple geographic locations where there is no direct line responsibility Have good interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with proven experience working in a matrixed management structure, managing global teams Be a strategic & commercial thinker with a track record of active contribution to strategy and innovation Able to work independently and solve comlpex business problems whilst keeping stakeholders informed. Have strong organizational and planning skills and be able to forecast resources requirements 12+ months in advance.
