Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Data Engineer
with
10+ years of experience
in cloud-based data engineering and a strong expertise in
Snowflake
. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of
data warehouse principles
,
data modelling
,
ETL/ELT processes
,
SQL development
, and performance optimization. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions that drive business value.

Key Skills

  • Snowflake:
    Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage, data sharing, cloning, time travel, cost optimization, and governance.
  • SQL:
    Advanced knowledge of complex queries, window functions, stored procedures, and Snowflake-specific performance tuning.
  • ETL/ELT Development:
    Experience with Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, Python scripting, and tools such as Talend.
  • Data Modelling:
    Strong background in dimensional modelling, data vault, and related methodologies.
  • Performance Tuning:
    Proficient in optimizing queries, warehouse sizing, cost control, and data loading strategies.
  • Security & Governance:
    Skilled in role-based access control, network policies, and data masking; knowledge of governance frameworks.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    Proficiency in Python for workflow automation and system integrations.
  • Cloud Ecosystem:
    Familiar with Azure and its integration with Snowflake.
  • Analytics & Visualization:
    Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
  • Version Control:
    Hands-on experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
  • Agile:
    Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Data and ETL teams to review existing architecture and propose improvements leveraging Snowflake capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models on the Snowflake platform.
  • Optimize SQL queries for ETL/ELT processes and BI reporting.
  • Ensure data accuracy, security, and governance across the Snowflake environment.
  • Conduct performance tuning, query debugging, and cost optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews and establish best practices for development standards.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro, Architect, Advanced) are a strong plus.
