Profile Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with 10+ years of expertise in cloud data warehousing, with strong specialization in Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have proven skills in designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable and robust data solutions on the Snowflake platform.
The candidate should have deep expertise in data modeling, SQL development, ETL/ELT pipelines, performance tuning, and governance frameworks, coupled with strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Product Owners, and QA teams.
A passion for leveraging Snowflake capabilities to unlock data-driven insights and drive business value is key to success in this role.
Key Skills & Expertise
Snowflake Expertise: Proficient in Snowflake architecture (virtual warehouses, storage, data sharing, cloning, time travel, cost optimization, and data governance).
SQL Development: Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, window functions, stored procedures, and query optimization tailored for Snowflake.
ETL/ELT Development: Hands-on experience with Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, and integration with ETL tools (e.g., Talend) and scripting (Python).
Data Modeling: Expertise in dimensional modeling, data vault, and other methodologies within Snowflake.
Performance Tuning: Skilled in query optimization, warehouse scaling, cost efficiency, and debugging performance bottlenecks.
Security & Governance: Strong understanding of role-based access, data masking, network policies, and governance frameworks.
Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python and other scripting tools for automation and integration.
Cloud Ecosystem: Familiarity with Azure (or other cloud platforms) and its integration with Snowflake.
Data Analysis & BI: Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI.
Version Control & Collaboration: Proficient in Git and Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Data and ETL teams to review code, assess current architecture, and implement improvements leveraging Snowflake's best practices.
Design, develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and models on Snowflake for ETL and BI workloads.
Review and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and scalability.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the Snowflake environment.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices and standards.
Proactively monitor Snowflake workloads to ensure scalability, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
Snowflake Certifications (Pro / Architect / Advanced) preferred.
