Role & responsibilities

The Financial Reporting & Planning (or Senior Financial Analyst) will be responsible for providing financial analysis, reporting, and planning support to the organization. This role will focus on the review and analysis of the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, and insightful variance analysis to drive business performance. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • P&L Analysis: Analyze and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L results, identifying key drivers of performance, trends, and variances.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial reports, including variance analysis, dashboards, and performance summaries.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts, working closely with business units to gather and validate assumptions.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and forecast, identifying key issues, and providing actionable insights to management.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and planning processes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and sales, to gather and validate financial data and provide financial support.
  • Systems Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and optimization of financial systems, including TM1 and PeopleSoft.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) required.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, or a related field.

  • Skills:

  • Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling skills, including the ability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required) and experience with financial systems such as:

  • TM1 (Cognos TM1) - Required

  • PeopleSoft - Preferred

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Proven experience in developing and managing budgets and forecasts.

  • Variance Analysis: Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth variance analysis and identify key drivers of performance.
