Gift Card Operations Specialist

As a Gift Card Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of gift card operations, ensuring smooth functioning and optimal customer experience. This role involves overseeing the issuance, distribution, tracking, and reconciliation of gift cards, as well as providing support to customers and internal teams regarding gift card inquiries and issues.
Responsibilities:
Gift Card Issuance and Distribution:
• Coordinate the issuance and distribution of gift cards through various channels, including physical cards, digital formats, and third-party platforms.
• Ensure accurate recording of gift card details and values in the system.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with vendors for replenishment as needed.
Tracking and Reporting:
• Maintain comprehensive records of gift card transactions, including activations, redemptions, and balances.
• Generate regular reports on gift card activity, including sales performance, redemption rates, and outstanding balances.
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
Customer Support:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to gift cards, providing timely and helpful assistance via various communication channels (phone, email, chat).
• Resolve issues such as lost or stolen gift cards, balance inquiries, and redemption difficulties.
• Educate customers on gift card policies, terms, and procedures.
Internal Collaboration:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service, to ensure alignment on gift card initiatives and processes.
• Communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders to address operational challenges, propose improvements, and implement solutions.
Compliance and Risk Management:
• Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing gift card operations.
• Implement and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate fraud, minimize financial risks, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls
Qualifications:
• 4-6 years of proven experience in gift card operations, retail operations, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and gift card management software.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in gift card management.
• Experience working with vendors and third-party partners is a plus
