Overview:
At Minetech, we are seeking an experienced Head of Commercial to drive our commercial strategies and operations. Incumbent will manage all commercial aspects of our mining and metallurgy operations, including global sourcing, contract management, logistics, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning : Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive growth and profitability.
Sourcing and Vendor Development : Oversee global sourcing and vendor management for capital goods, raw materials, and consumables.
Contract Management: Manage international contracts, ensuring compliance with obligations and legal/arbitration clauses. Handle transfer pricing and project financing.
Logistics : Manage domestic and international logistics, including import processes, insurance, and customs.
Financial Oversight : Monitor credit ratings of banks and financial institutions; handle fund planning and project financing.
Fund Planning : Oversee budgeting and financial planning for commercial activities.
Staff Training : Develop and implement training programs for the commercial team.
Cross-Functional Coordination : Collaborate with other departments to support commercial activities.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 8+ years in commercial roles in mining and metallurgy, with 3+ years in senior management
- Strong strategic, negotiation, and management skills.
- Proficiency in French and English required; local language knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to work in dynamic environments and travel as needed.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and ethical practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and drive process improvements effectively.
