Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive critical care to adult patients in the ICU, including medical, surgical, and trauma patients.
  • Perform and supervise life-saving procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, and mechanical ventilation management.
  • Lead daily multidisciplinary ICU rounds with nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other support staff.
  • Coordinate care plans and collaborate with referring physicians and subspecialists.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab results to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Respond promptly to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls.
  • Ensure timely documentation of patient care, procedures, and progress notes in electronic medical records.
  • Follow evidence-based protocols and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in family meetings and communicate effectively with patients' families regarding prognosis, treatment options, and goals of care.
  • Supervise residents, fellows, and medical students (if applicable).
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MBBS with MD/DNB in Internal Medicine or Anaesthesia, followed by DM/DNB in Critical Care Medicine or Fellowship in Critical Care.
  • Licensure: Valid medical license to practice (insert country/state).
  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years post-fellowship experience in critical care preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS; FCCS/ATLS preferred.
