Position : Senior Resident - Critical Care Medicine
Location : SMIH, Patel Nagar, Dehradun
The Senior Resident in the department of Critical Care Medicine is an advanced-stage doctor specializing in managing critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, while also participating in academic activities and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities :-
- Patient Management: Patient Assessment and Monitoring
Provide round-the-clock care for critically ill patients, including advanced assessment, continuous monitoring of vital signs, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Treatment Planning: Developing and Implementing treatment plans
Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, including appropriate medication adjustments, ventilator management, and fluid and electrolyte balance.
- Procedures: Performing life support procedures like intubation and central line placement
Perform various critical care procedures, such as endotracheal intubation, central line and arterial line placement, and percutaneous tracheostomy.
- Emergency Response: Managing Emergencies
Act as a first responder to medical emergencies and life-threatening events in the ICU, leading resuscitation efforts and coordinating the team.
- Supervision and Training: Providing guidance to the healthcare team
Oversee and mentor junior residents, nurses, and technicians, and contribute to the training and academic activities of the department.
- Collaboration:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including attending physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to optimize patient care.
- Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with hospital and medico-legal standards.
- Quality and Safety:
Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality protocols, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Educational Qualifications :-
- Education: MBBS + MD/DNB in Anesthesiology or MD/DNB in General Medicne / Respiratory Medicine/ Emergency Medicine
- Fellowship in Critical Care or DM in Critical Care. ( Preferred but not mandatory)
Skills required :-
- Experience: Relevant experience in an ICU setting.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in patient resuscitation, ventilator management, and advanced life support techniques.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to lead and coordinate the healthcare team effectively.
Communication: Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
Candidate must be comfortable in doing rotational shifts
