Java Backend Engineer

Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Java Backend Engineer with 6–10 years of experience to join our team. The role involves end-to-end software development, including story delivery, API development, unit testing, deployment, and participation in production support during business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver product features as part of agile sprints, including design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD and deployment activities using Jenkins and Docker
  • Monitor applications and systems using tools like Splunk and NewRelic
  • Participate in the production support ROTA during business hours
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Contribute to design discussions and suggest scalable and maintainable solutions

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience with Kafka and microservices architecture
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Proficiency in containerization using Docker
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
  • Familiarity with API Gateway , Load Balancing , and monitoring tools like NewRelic and Splunk
  • Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase preferred)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
