Role & responsibilities

  1. Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities


  2. • Oversee day-to-day hospital operations to ensure smooth functioning.

  3. • Implement policies and SOPs as per NABH/NABL or other regulatory standards.
  4. • Coordinate between departments (clinical, nursing, pharmacy, housekeeping, billing, IT, HR).
  5. • Assist management in strategic planning, budgeting, and cost control.


  6. • Monitor and improve operational efficiency and patient care delivery.

  7. Patient Care & Service Management


  8. • Ensure patient satisfaction by addressing grievances, feedback, and complaints promptly.

  9. • Monitor waiting times, admission-discharge processes, and OPD/IPD flow.
  10. • Ensure adequate facilities for patient safety, comfort, and hygiene.


  11. • Coordinate with medical and nursing staff to maintain quality care.

  12. Staff & Human Resource Management


  13. • Supervise non-clinical staff (front office, housekeeping, security, maintenance).

  14. • Ensure adequate staff scheduling and duty rosters.
  15. • Conduct training programs on hospital policies, fire safety, infection control, and patient handling.


  16. • Evaluate staff performance and recommend corrective actions or incentives.

  17. Compliance & Quality Assurance


  18. • Ensure adherence to hospital accreditation standards (NABH, JCI, ISO, etc.).

  19. • Maintain compliance with legal, safety, biomedical waste, and statutory regulations.
  20. • Oversee internal audits and documentation (discharge summaries, billing, consents, registers).


  21. • Monitor infection control protocols and report to the infection control committee.

  22. Financial & Resource Management


  23. • Monitor billing accuracy, cash collection, insurance/TPA coordination.

  24. • Control inventory, procurement, and cost optimization.
  25. • Ensure effective utilization of resources (manpower, equipment, consumables).


  26. • Analyze financial data and assist management in revenue cycle management.

  27. Infrastructure & Facility Management


  28. • Ensure maintenance of hospital equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.

  29. • Coordinate with biomedical engineers for equipment servicing.
  30. • Supervise housekeeping, security, canteen, laundry, and other facility services.


  31. • Manage emergency preparedness (fire safety, disaster management).

  32. Communication & Liaison


  33. • Act as a link between hospital management, doctors, staff, and patients.

  34. • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, government authorities, and corporate clients.
  35. • Represent hospital in meetings, reviews, and inspections.
