Job Description Accounts Executive (UK Accounting)
Position Title: Accounts Executive UK Accounting (Xero Software)
Location: (Onsite / Remote as applicable)
Role Overview
Stone Export Company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Executive with hands-on expertise in UK accounting practices and Xero software. The ideal candidate will handle bookkeeping, VAT compliance, reconciliations, and financial reporting for our UK-based clients/operations while ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping in Xero.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable with timely reconciliations.
- Prepare and support filing of UK VAT returns (MTD compliant).
- Generate management reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Post payroll journals and assist with PAYE & NIC compliance.
- Support year-end closing, statutory accounts, and corporation tax workings.
- Collaborate with UK-based teams, clients, and auditors.
- Implement Xero add-ons (Hubdoc, Dext, etc.) to automate processes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of UK accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Xero software (Xero certification preferred).
- Familiarity with UK VAT, payroll, and HMRC compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken & written).
