About the Role:

We are seeking a lawyer for the Assistant Manager position in the Employment Law (EL) Legal Group. The team supports strategic initiatives on labor laws, collaborates with industry forums on new legislation, and is key in implementing compliance changes. It tracks legal updates, advises leadership, and assists with projects related to new laws. Additionally, the team works closely with businesses on employee transitions, due diligence in acquisitions, and social security compliance.

Responsibilities:

Supporting the Legal departments on:Employment law-related compliancesImmigration matters, including Visa (inbound and outbound)Litigation matters arising from employment law issuesLabor compliance issues in different states (including Shops & Establishment Acts and contract labor legislation)Advising on payroll compliances with emphasis on PF, ESIC, and minimum wages, leave administrationAttrition issues and advising HR on termination mattersSEZ and STPI compliancesRegular/periodic gap analysis on new and updated controls and best practices in the industryMonitoring existing processes and identifying opportunities to create processes as part of best practices to ensure standardizationExpected to contribute to the knowledge base, provide legal insights, perform independent legal research on emerging legislative changes, analyze the impact of proposed legislative changes on the business in India, and redefine processes in response to legal dynamicsPrepare executive summaries, position papers, support employee transition strategies, and provide legal updates on emerging legal trends affecting business and internal processes for leadership

Required Skills:

Working in IT & ITES organization as an employment law counsel or compliance attorneyGood Experience in Employment Law and Labour LawKnowledge and experience of Immigration Law preferredSEZ and STPI labour law compliancesWorking or having worked in organizations with multiple state presence

Qualifications & Experience:

8-12 years of experience LLB/LLM
