Market Development Manager

BUSINESS: CIRCOR, INDUSTRIAL VALVES

LOCATION: COIMBATORE, INDIA

DIRECT REPORTING: HEAD SALES - INDUSTRIAL VALVES

FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: NA

Position Summary

Acquires, establishes, and develops relationships with prospective customers, on a specific geographic area, focusing on various product lines of Industrial Valves. Drive business development actions and work closely with business partners in assigned markets to expand the customer base and achieve business growth with defined margins.

Principal Activities

  • Develop and implement strategies to enter new customers, markets and expand existing ones by leveraging CIRCOR global product portfolio
  • Identify and develop commercial opportunities through a B2B approach, in the direct area of competence & through defined markets
  • Conducting market research and analysing data to better understand customer needs and market trends
  • Gather market intelligence and report to management from time to time
  • Should be able to effectively gain forward insight into customer needs and direction to develop market forecast, competitor assessments, budget and business
  • Identify channel partners and develop them to long term partners to drive business growth on a regional level
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders in focussed markets and drive sales improvement
  • Build relationships with potential customers and partners, create marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness, and monitor the competitive landscape for new opportunities.
  • Collaborating with marketing/product management team to develop effective communication and promotional materials/channels
  • Close coordination with cross functional teams to drive various Market Development initiatives
  • Willingness to travel 60~70% PAN India and global travel as necessary.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skill and good at building strategic relationship with key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Good Negotiation skills
  • Must have good leadership skills to drive results and must be self-motivated
  • Understands the principles of sales & marketing and market development
  • Should have capability and experience in handling multiple product lines
  • Ability to co-ordinate and drive internal sales team and channel partners.
  • Must be good in business communication and preparation of commercial proposals
  • Ability to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and business development skills with an ability to work with diverse teams in multiple locations
  • Experience in handling large customers in India Region is must
  • Experience in handling global customers is desirable
  • Good people management skills, including the ability to effectively leverage people at remotely located offices and sites
  • Strategic think and act ability to get results through others and customer handling skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and data management ability
  • Experience in handling market promotional activities like Industrial Expo and Trade Shows

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor / Master's Degree in Engineering. Post Graduations in any Stream of Management will be an added advantage
  • Experience: 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in Business Development/Marketing, preferably for Industrial Products.
