We are seeking a talented PostgreSQL Lead with expertise in ETL processes, strong SQL skills, and experience with ETL tools to lead our database team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of PostgreSQL and extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing databases for performance and scalability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
  • Design and implement ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it to meet business requirements, and load it into the database.
  • Utilize ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS to streamline data integration workflows and automate data movement tasks.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data needs, and define data models and schemas.
  • Optimize database queries, indexes, and performance-tuning strategies to enhance system efficiency and response times.
  • Implement and maintain data quality standards and ensure data integrity across all databases.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in database management, ETL, and SQL development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL databases in a lead or senior role.
  • Strong expertise in ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar platforms.
  • Very good experience in SQL development, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience with database administration tasks such as backup and recovery, replication, and security management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Shell scripting for automation tasks is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
