Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Functional Tester to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, particularly functional testing, and will be responsible for ensuring that applications function correctly and meet the specified requirements. You will work closely with development and product teams to design test cases, execute tests, and document results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning: Analyze project requirements and create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Functional Testing Execution: Perform functional testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications, ensuring that they meet the expected requirements.
• Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating with the development team for resolution.
• Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing after code changes or updates to ensure stability and reliability.
• Automation Opportunity Identification: Work with the QA automation team to identify functional areas that can be automated.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed test results, logs, and reports, ensuring traceability and compliance with project requirements.
• Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to understand project requirements and resolve issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 8-12 years of experience in functional testing or software QA.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, JIRA) and bug tracking software.
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC: Strong understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
• Manual Testing Expertise: Proficiency in manual functional testing, with a focus on business logic validation.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Documentation Skills: Experience in creating test plans, cases, and documenting test results effectively.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Automation Knowledge: Basic knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium) is a plus.
• Domain Expertise: Experience in specific domains such as finance, healthcare, or e-commerce.
• Certifications: ISTQB or other software testing certifications are advantageous.
