.Job ProfileThe purpose of the DBS Technology Control Testing Senior Manager is to supervise a team of Technology Control Testers to ensure successful delivery of controls testing within the First Line DBS Technology Function. Understanding of technology controls and prior experience of leading control testing teams are essential as this role supports the execution of the CCO DBS Testing Methodology. The role involves overseeing the Control Testing team, coaching and providing guidance to Control Testers.What you’ll do:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Leading a team of technology control testing professionals, overseeing and driving completion of control testing assignments to support operational, conduct and regulatory risk and control managementEffectively delegating work across the team to ensure the work is completed in a timely manner and to the required technical standardEnsuring quality is embedded into the control testing deliverables through effective oversight of the control testing team whilst ensuring compliance with the CCO Control Testing MethodologyParticipation in the professional development of the testing team through effective coaching and knowledge sharingApplying judgment in relation to the identification and publication of control testing findings including key risks and issuesPartnering with IT management to discuss, agree and assess control issues identified through testing activitiesSupporting the preparation of testing reports to inform key stakeholders of the outcome of testingProviding expertise and guidance on control testing across CCO to build repore across the businessEstablishing effective working relationship with the Leadership team and Technology CCO teamsBuilding ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with internal stakeholders through maintaining a network of Control Owners and Control Operators for the key Technology controls and partnering with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defence (LOD) including Operational Risk, ISR, Internal Audit etc. on coverage of Technology control testingUnderstand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply, specifically Internal Controls and any supporting policies and proceduresRequirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:Requirements:Graduate/Post graduate in any discipline with strong academic backgroundMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in Control Assurance, SOX Controls testing, Internal Audit, Internal Controls and Risk assessment. Experience in Financial Service industry or an external audit firm is desirableSignificant knowledge and competence of IT and Data Analytics skillsExperience in the Finance Industry is an advantageKnowledge of controls around technology management including new technology (Robotics, API, Cloud, Data Loss Prevention, Cyber)Professional certification, such as CIA, CISA, CISSP, CISM or equivalent Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work without close supervision and to take decisions autonomously, subject to verificationExperience within complex organizations and virtual teams, as well outsourced servicesAbility to work customer focused, collaborative, flexible, persistent and results-orientedCope with varying workloads, pressures, and priorities.Excellent relationship management skillsSelf-starter and effective collaboratorStrong team playerYou’ll achieve more at HSBCHSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
