Junior Functional Testing Engineer

Role OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Functional Testing Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join our quality assurance team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, including new features that leverage Artificial Intelligence. You will be responsible for understanding requirements, designing and executing thorough test cases, and actively participating in the defect management process. This position is ideal for someone looking to advance their functional testing expertise and gain exposure to testing AI-driven functionalities.Key ResponsibilitiesHere are 5 key responsibilities for this role:Requirements Validation: Actively participate in the review and analysis of product requirements, user stories, and design documents to ensure clarity, completeness, and testability.Test Case Development: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and exploratory test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across various platforms.Reporting & Triage: Accurately report, document, and track software defects with clear, reproducible steps using our bug tracking system. Actively participate in defect triage meetings, providing necessary details for efficient resolution.LLM/AI Testing: Perform functional, integration, and user experience testing specifically for features that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI/ML components, validating their behavior and outputs.Test Prioritization: Execute tests based on established prioritization guidelines, focusing on high-risk and critical functionalities, and assist in refining test priorities based on project needs.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.2+ years of hands-on experience in functional, manual, and exploratory testing of web, mobile, or desktop applications.Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).Proven ability to design, write, and execute effective test cases from requirements, and articulate defects clearly.Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail) and bug tracking systems.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.A keen interest in and basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning concepts, particularly how they apply to software features.Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)Experience with testing internationalized (i18n) applications.Familiarity with basic SQL queries for backend data validation.Exposure to basic API testing concepts (e.g., using Postman).Any prior involvement in crowd testing initiatives or analyzing user feedback.What We OfferCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits.A supportive environment focused on continuous learning and professional growth.Opportunity to work on innovative products with cutting-edge AI integration.A collaborative and friendly team culture.Modern office facilities in Bengaluru.3 must havesFunctional Testing 4/5AI 3/5SQL 3/5
