Role Summary: The RMS Specialist manages and oversees risk control processes to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient trading operations. This role is essential in safeguarding the firm’s financial stability by monitoring exposure, enforcing risk limits, and implementing risk mitigation strategies in real-time, particularly during market volatility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Monitoring and Control:
  • Monitor trading activity, exposure, and client portfolios to ensure compliance with established risk limits.
  • Apply real-time risk checks and implement restrictions to prevent excessive exposure or limit breaches.
  • Track and manage intraday trading limits for clients and the firm’s trading desks, with a focus on margin compliance and risk exposure.
  • Margin Management:
  • Calculate and update margin requirements based on real-time market movements, asset types, and trading activity.
  • Implement margin calls and liquidations as required to maintain compliance with regulatory and company-defined limits.
  • Communicate margin requirements to clients and work with them to ensure timely margin top-ups or adjustments.
  • Risk Analysis and Reporting:
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports for senior management, highlighting key risk exposures, limit utilizations, and any breaches.
  • Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses to assess potential risk under different market conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all risk management activities, ensuring audit readiness and transparency.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Audit Readiness:
  • Ensure that all RMS processes comply with SEBI regulations and internal policies.
  • Prepare documentation and support audit processes by providing necessary risk-related reports and compliance data.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, ensuring the firm’s RMS practices align with the latest SEBI and other regulatory standards.
  • System Optimization and Process Improvement:
  • Work closely with IT and development teams to enhance RMS tools and systems, improving efficiency and accuracy in risk management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, especially in margin calculation, reporting, and data reconciliation, to optimize RMS workflows.
  • Support in the design and testing of new risk management tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to tailor solutions to the firm’s specific needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years in risk management within financial services or brokerage, with a focus on RMS, margin management, or trading risk control.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in RMS platforms, margin calculation systems, and familiarity with trading software. Knowledge of SQL or data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SEBI regulations, margin guidelines, and other relevant industry compliance standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze market data, evaluate risk exposures, and make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, traders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail Orientation: High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in real-time risk monitoring, reporting, and compliance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in risk management, such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or PRM (Professional Risk Manager), are advantageous.
