About the Role: The Research Operations and Clinical Trials Support Unit provides support for the conduct of clinical research at Canberra Hospital. The Unit includes the Research Ethics and Governance Office (REGO). REGO is responsible for research governance processes and management of the ACT Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and its sub-committees, including secretariat support, policy development and project management. The Senior Manager will support the REGO Director and Senior Director with high level administrative work including, leading a secretariat team to support local and national committees, including but not limited to the Human Research Ethics Committee, its sub-committee, the Clinical Research Management Group and the National Mutual Acceptance Jurisdictional Working Group. This position will work with REGO to strengthen timelines, governance, quality, and compliance. The role ensures that REGO can meet and maintain its requirements under the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (NS; National Statement), the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF) and other applicable regulatory and organisational requirements. This position will be instrumental in ensuring REGO delivers research ethics and governance processes to the highest standard, safeguarding participant safety and data reliability while enabling Canberra Health Services to expand its role as a leading research centre.
