Role: Planner, Regional Supply and Network Planning-EM Location: Kharadi, Pune, India Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The Planner, Regional Supply and Network Planning (EM) supports the Senior Manager – Network Planning (EM) and Cluster Supply Chain Manager in driving the SIOP and network planning process across countries. The role focuses on achieving revenue and inventory targets, managing new product introductions and phase-in/phase-out plans, supporting tender and product segmentation processes, and ensuring effective distribution and inventory management. Working closely with Commercial and Regional Supply Chain teams, the Planner refines forecasts, identifies gaps, and supports strategic and operational initiatives to strengthen overall supply chain performance. What will you be doing? Planning & Execution Provide tactical leadership for planning activities across all franchises. Integrate financial and demand plans to support business objectives. Achieve customer service targets (LIFR) for the region. Lead country-level Distribution and Inventory Planning, and drive continuous improvement of S&OE processes. Manage full Product Life Cycle, including new product introductions, phase-outs, and E&O/scrap control. Partner with vendors, Planning, Marketing, Customer Service, and Branch teams to enhance inventory health, service levels, and supply continuity. Escalate key risks, challenges, or opportunities to Senior Management as needed. Monitoring & Maintenance Ensure all planning parameters are accurate, updated, and aligned across systems for data consistency. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce customer backorders. Compliance & Continuous Improvement Maintain up-to-date technical procedures and documentation. Apply continuous improvement and automation to streamline workflows, enhance communication, and increase efficiency. Uphold quality and compliance standards in line with ISO 9001:2008 and related policies. What will you need to be successful? Education : MBA in Operations or Supply Chain, or a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. Should have 3–6 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end planning cycle — from demand and supply to inventory planning. Experience working in a global business environment preferred. Familiarity with Kinaxis RapidResponse or Kinaxis Maestro will be an added advantage.
