About the role This role is open to individuals with lived experience as a family member supporting a young person with mental health challenges. The Online Senior Peer Worker - Family , uses their lived experience of supporting a young person through mental health and wellbeing challenges, help-seeking, and recovery. This role provides support and guidance to Online Peer Workers and will be responsible for the delivery of safe, inclusive, and effective peer support across two key streams: Online Group-based Peer Support (e.g. Online Communities Group Chats) Online One-to-One Peer Support (e.g. via webchat or phone) While the role may work across both streams, this role will have a stronger focus on one-to-one peer work for family. Our Online Senior Peer Workers are part of a multidisciplinary team and work alongside clinicians and other professionals to ensure young people and family receive the right support at the right time and in line with their preferences. This role will be supported through supervision, training, and clear pathways for support, consultation and escalation when needed, to deliver safe and effective peer support. As part of this role, some the responsibilities will include: Deliver one-to-one peer work sessions in line with the 1:1 Peer Work practice manual. Participate in and lead Online Communities Group Chats, including briefing teams and moderating discussions as needed Model safe storytelling, boundary setting, and appropriate use of lived experience. Complete session notes and documentation in line with policies and clinical governance. Provide guidance, consultation and supervision to Online Peer Workers. Support team wellbeing, morale, and performance during shifts as required. Identify professional development needs for the team and contribute to training and orientation as required. Monitor risk and escalate concerns appropriately and in accordance with existing governance processes. Take initiative in your own professional growth by modelling and engaging in ongoing reflection, learning, and continuous professional development, including both mandatory and self-identified opportunities. Who we're looking for someone with: Lived experience as a family member supporting a young person with mental health challenges and recovery. Demonstrated ability to use lived experience safely and effectively in peer support. Demonstrated ability to work within an integrated mental health support service including working alongside other health disciplines Experience delivering online peer support in either group or one-to-one settings. Ability to lead, supervise, and support a team. Strong understanding of peer work principles and digital service delivery. Demonstrated commitment to supervision, reflective practice, and professional development. Demonstrated sound IT skills and confidence in using online technologies, including web-based platforms, phone conferencing tools, collaborative software, and digital communication systems. Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and adapt to new systems as required to support online peer work delivery.
