Job Role Overview : Temperate Technologies is seeking a driven and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our new product development team. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a project independently and take a product from concept to production. He/she will have prior experience in design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.

Company Overview : Temperate Technologies provides farmers with access to decentralized post-harvest solutions such as cold rooms to increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables, and in the process, increase their incomes. We provide solutions for short-term storage and transport of daily-use fruits and vegetables and long-term storage of onions.

Our solutions are based on a patented energy-efficient cooling technology with 2 patents granted and 3 patents pending. We have been recognized by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India as one of the top ideas for transformation of Indian rural economy. We are supported by BIRAC, DST, SELCO Foundation, Social Alpha, UNIDO and Villgro.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of cooling, HVAC and fluid flow systems.
  • Perform engineering analyses, including FEA, CFD, and thermal simulations.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
  • Manage projects from concept to production.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize product performance and cost.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams, including manufacturing team, electrical engineers and suppliers, to drive product development.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of experience in design, prototyping, product development, manufacturing process development, or related fields.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (we use Fusion 360).
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing methods.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and a results-oriented mindset.

Compensation : We provide a competitive pay package according to experience and performance. The typical salary range for this position is 5.10-6.80 LPA depending on experience. We provide health insurance for self and family, and stock grants to full-time employees.
