Job Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Program Manager (PGM) in Data Engineering to lead and manage large-scale data engineering projects that align with our organization’s business goals. The Senior PGM will oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of complex data infrastructure initiatives, ensuring data availability, scalability, and quality for advanced analytics and insights. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of data engineering principles combined with strong leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the overall data engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business and technology stakeholders.
Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data platforms to support data integration and transformation across various sources.
Manage end-to-end data engineering projects, ensuring the successful delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
Collaborate closely with data architects, data scientists, and analysts to deliver robust data models that drive business insights.
Define and implement data governance, quality, and security standards to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and protection.
Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies for data processing, storage, and analytics.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the data engineering teams, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Oversee the management and optimization of data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based platforms.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, and lead innovation initiatives in the space.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience (15+ years) in data engineering or a related field, with a strong background in managing large-scale data projects.
Expertise in data pipeline architecture, ETL processes, and working with both structured and unstructured data.
Proficiency in cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Demonstrated leadership experience, managing large technical teams and delivering complex data projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business solutions.
Certifications in cloud technologies or data engineering (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
