you’ll be our :  Associate Supplier Manager -  Proto Electronics

you’ll be based at : IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru

you’ll be Aligned with : Head - Electronics, SCM 

you’ll be joining our : SCM Team

What you’ll do at Ather:


  • Execute builds at vendor’s place for PCBA, Harness, Magnetics, other electrical parts & Box Build

  • Do BOM Analysis, Secure components for builds by sourcing and purchasing the required components, Get Process Definition (PFC), Control Plan & PFMEA of the New Product PCBA, Electrical parts and Box Build from the vendor.

  • Superwise the activities such as PCBA SMT, Wave Soldering, Dip Soldering, Gluing, Conformal Coating, Potting Processes, Fabrication etc at vendors place and report it back to relevant stakeholders at Ather. 

  • Superwise and collaborate for PCBA Testing – Cold test, ICT, FCT, Burnin test etc., & Box Build Fictional testing.

  • NPI project execution (prototype), Supplier Resource Planning (3M’s) & Forecasting to achieve the targets.

  • Prototype Components Quotation, Vendor Onboarding & Executing New Dev Projects 

  • Analyzing and negotiating NRE’s (exp. Stencils, Assembly Jigs & Fixtures, Wave pallets) required for builds.

  • PCB procurement and resolving TQ’s from them

  • Basic feasibility check of PCBA, Harness, Magnetics & Box Build w.r.t. DFM & DFA and feasibility check w.r.t. to capability matrix

  • Basic gerber reviews, working Gerber Comparison & Checkplot verification.

  • Working on SPC tools, CTQ’s identifications, Build History Record, Yield Calculation, Process validation, Capability Assessment

  • Working level understanding of IPC, JEDEC, Automotive Standards

  • Interacting with Electronic Manufacturing Services for Solving Assembly related Technical queries

  • Identify the new potential suppliers as per the drawing requirements, latest technology trends and shifts, competition risks et al. Assess supply chain risks and ensure having mitigation strategies in place.

  • Drive and Monitor the selection processes for new suppliers, from identification of potential suppliers to qualification, audits, assessments & contracting and up to the validation of processes.

  • Involve in the initial technical review meetings with potential suppliers along with the engineering team.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team, finance to understand the should-cost reports, and identify levers to bridge the gaps between should cost and quotes

  • Identify and establish Part Cost/NRE cost/Lead Time structures for your commodity and sub commodity parts & meet cost, quality, and timeline targets for the Program.

  • Execute contracts with suppliers to secure commitment on cost, quality and delivery and mitigate potential risks associated with SLAs 

  • Align to the organisational long term forecast and business plan to secure capacities at each supplier partners manufacturing lines.


Here’s what we are looking for: 


  • Prior experience in development of Electronics Prototyping, Ordering,  Mfg process, Vendor management  preferably automotive parts.

  • Strong knowledge on 4S ; Scouting , selecting, securing & supplier relation management.

  • Good experience on understanding of supplier landscape, value chain mapping & understanding Zero based costing.

  • Strong knowledge of handling EMS related activities,Electrical and Electronics component sourcing & buying,Harness building, box builds,etc
