Engineering Lead – Microservices

Job Summary Synechron is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Lead to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. In this role, you will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of scalable microservices solutions tailored for transaction banking, corporate banking, and payments domains. Your technical leadership will be instrumental in driving innovative, secure, and high-performance applications that influence the future of financial services. Software Requirements Required Software Skills: Node.js (v14 and above) or React.js (v17 and above) – strong hands-on experience Microservices architecture design and deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes) Version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) REST API development and integration tools Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) – focus on cloud-native applications Development environments (Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ IDEA or similar) AI-assisted development tooling (e.g., code analysis, automated testing frameworks) Preferred Software Skills: Familiarity with full-stack development Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) Container orchestration and deployment automation tools Overall Responsibilities Lead the technical design and implementation of microservices architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and product teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions. Mentor, guide, and review the work of software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Integrate solutions with enterprise systems including Core Banking, Payment Hubs, and Payment Gateways. Oversee the deployment pipeline, working with DevOps teams to automate and optimize CI/CD processes. Ensure adherence to security best practices, governing data privacy, system integrity, and compliance standards. Advocate for and implement innovative engineering practices, including AI tools, to enhance code quality and operational efficiency. Monitor system health and collaborate on incident management to maintain high service availability. Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices architectures in enterprise environments. Prior experience working within banking, financial services, or fintech domains, particularly in corporate banking, payments, or transaction processing is highly desirable. Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams, with proven ability to mentor and guide engineers through complex projects. Experience integrating systems with core banking platforms, payment gateways, or transaction hubs is advantageous. Day-to-Day Activities Engage in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and technical reviews with project teams. Collaborate with business analysts and product managers to clarify technical requirements. Write and review code focusing on quality, performance, security, and maintainability. Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment workflows. Conduct system architecture reviews and technical risk assessments. Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and QA teams to ensure system robustness, compliance, and operational excellence. Stay updated with latest industry trends, tools, and best practices, introducing AI-driven solutions where appropriate. Support incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution efforts for production environments. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Scrum/Agile certifications are preferred.
