Senior Engineer

About the role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Apigee Senior Engineer to lead our innovative team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in RESTful Web Services and API proxy development, with a keen focus on building scalable, secure, and efficient web services. This role offers the opportunity to drive the strategic direction of our API management and ensure seamless integration across our platforms. Key responsibilities Lead and manage the development and deployment of APIs using Apigee platform . Design and architect API proxies from existing REST services to enhance functionality and performance. Develop and implement microservice-based RESTful APIs to support business objectives. Prioritize and oversee Apigee proxy creation requests, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the API management lifecycle, including environment creation, virtual hosts, API proxies, caching, product development, and portal publishing. Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve API and Apigee configuration issues. Qualifications and skills Essential Proficiency in API proxies, policies, and the Apigee platform architecture. Expertise in RESTful services and their application in modern web development. In-depth understanding of security policies, including BasicAuth, OAuth, JSON Web Tokens (JWTs), and other authentication/authorization methods. Experience in testing services using Postman. Solid understanding of version control systems, particularly GitHub. Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Preferred Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for creating custom policies, handling data transformations, and backend service integration.
