Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management & Drafting:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and MOUs.
- Ensure contracts are legally sound, risk-mitigated, and compliant with applicable laws.
Maintain and update a contract repository for efficient tracking.
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
Ensure the company adheres to broadcasting and other regulations.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
Liaison with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and legal consultants as required.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
Support legal proceedings related to defamation, copyright infringement, consumer
complaints, contractual disputes, and labour laws.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for litigation matters.
- Draft and respond to legal notices, FIRs, court pleadings, and affidavits.
Maintain case files, track court proceedings, and ensure timely filings.
Intellectual Property (IP) Protection:
Manage copyrights, trademarks, and licensing agreements to protect OTNs intellectual
assets.
- Assist in trademark registration and infringement actions.
Monitor unauthorized usage of OTNs content and initiate takedown actions when necessary.
Legal Advisory & Risk Management:
Provide legal advice to internal teams, including editorial, digital, HR, and finance.
- Assess legal risks associated with new business models, partnerships, and expansion strategies.
- Stay updated on emerging laws and regulations affecting the media and entertainment
industry.
- Conduct training sessions/workshops on legal best practices for different departments.
Key Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
- Integrated Law Degree (LL.B) from a recognised university.
- LL.M. or specialisation in Media & Entertainment Law, Corporate Law, or Intellectual
Property is a plus.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in corporate legal, media law, or a law firm handling media-related
cases.
- Experience in handling regulatory compliance, contract law, litigation support, and
intellectual property management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Legal Expertise: Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and media regulations.
- Contract Negotiation: Ability to draft and negotiate legally binding contracts.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of media-specific regulatory frameworks.
- Litigation Support: Experience in handling legal disputes and court procedures.
IP Protection: Understanding of copyright, trademark, and digital content protection.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal teams.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple legal matters simultaneously
