Job Title: Locomotive Safety Engineer Exp: 3 to 7 Years Notice Period: Immediate to start Location: Europe/India Department: Engineering / Safety & ComplianceNote: Immediate Joiners are consideredJob Summary: We are seeking a highly skilledLocomotive Safety Engineerto support the development and implementation of safety strategies for locomotive systems. This role involves leading safety planning, conducting hazard and risk analyses, developing safety concepts, and preparing comprehensive safety cases in compliance with relevant standards and regulations EN 50126/8/9, EN61709, EN61025 and EN12100Key Responsibilities: Lead and supportsystem safety planningactivities for locomotive projects. Develop and maintainsafety conceptsandsafety requirementsthroughout the system lifecycle. Conducthazard identification (HAZID) ,risk assessments , andfailure mode and effects analyses (FMEA/FMECA) . Performsafety analysessuch as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Event Tree Analysis (ETA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA). Prepare and maintainsafety casesand associated documentation to demonstrate compliance with applicable safety standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, systems, validation, and operations to ensure safety requirements are met. Supportaudits and assessmentsby regulatory bodies and certification authorities. Ensure traceability of safety requirements and verification/validation evidence. Stay updated with evolving safety standards and best practices in the rail industry.Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inElectrical, Systems Engineering , or a related field. Proven experience (typically 3–7 years) inrailway safety engineering , preferably in locomotive or rolling stock projects. Strong knowledge ofrailway safety standards(e.g., EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129). Experience withsafety analysis tools(e.g., Medini Analyze, FaultTree+, RAM Commander). Familiarity withsystems engineering principlesandV-model development . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Preferred Skills: Chartered Engineer or working towards professional certification. Experience withRAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety)processes. Knowledge ofsoftware safetyandcybersecurityin railway systems. Experience ininterfacing with certification bodiesandregulatory authorities .
