Job Title: Locomotive Safety Expert Exp: 10+ Years Notice Period: Immediate to start Location: Bangalore/Pune/Coimbatore Department: Safety Engineering / Rail Systems.Note:Immediate joiners are considered for this role .Role Overview: We are seeking a seasonedLocomotive Safety Expertto lead and support safety engineering activities across the lifecycle of locomotive development and operation. This role is critical in ensuring that safety is embedded from concept through to delivery and operation, in compliance with international railway safety standards and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution ofSafety Plansfor locomotive systems and subsystems. Define and maintainSafety ConceptsandSystem Safety Requirementsin alignment with project and regulatory needs. Conduct and overseehazard identification (HAZID) ,hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) ,risk assessments , andsafety analyses(e.g., FMEA, FTA, ETA, CCA). Develop and maintainSafety Cases , ensuring traceability of hazards, mitigations, and verification evidence. Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards such asEN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129 ,EN50701and other applicable CENELEC or international standards. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and certification teams to ensure safety is integrated into design and operational processes. Supportindependent safety assessments (ISA)and liaise withNotified Bodies (NoBo)andAssessment Bodies (AsBo) . Provide expert guidance onRAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety)methodologies and tools. Mentor junior safety engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of safety processes and tools.Required Qualifications & Experience: Degree inSystems Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering , or a related discipline. Minimum 10 + years of experiencein railway safety engineering, with a focus on locomotives or rolling stock. In-depth knowledge ofrailway safety standardsandsystem safety engineeringpractices. Proven experience insafety case developmentandregulatory compliance . Proficiency in safety analysis tools (e.g.,Medini Analyze, PTC Windchill Quality Solutions, Isograph ). Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Desirable Skills: Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional certification. Experience withsoftware and hardware safety integration . Familiarity withcybersecurity standardsin railway applications (e.g., IEC 62443). Experience working incross-functional and international teams .
