KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Operational

  • Ensure adherence to mechanical schedule (Preventive and Predictive) for the shift
  • Ensure appropriate preventive and predictive maintenance practices are followed, and contribute to their improvement
  • Prepare the plan for spares and consumables required for mechanical activities in the shift
  • Take follow-up from the previous shift and allocate jobs and machines to workers for the current shift with guidance from Manager
  • Review log books and plan the shift
  • Ensure zero breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes
  • Be responsible for the execution and the quality of maintenance work to be carried out on all machines and equipment according to planned work orders
  • Review the SOPs on monthly basis and propose effective changes in consultation with maintenance plant head
  • Work towards creating a culture of safe practices in the plant
  • Interact with the Stores for issue of spares and consumables as per requirement
  • Monitor machine downtime and take corrective action so as to minimize down time
  • Safeguard the machinery against any kind of degradation on a regular basis
  • Control maintenance inventory and ensure that adequate stock is available as per requirements for the team
  • Ensure monitoring of new equipment’s post commissioning to ensure optimum performance
  • Ensure team is trained on all maintenance procedure for the new machine installed to ensure best performance
  • Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers for training on specific technology, vibration analysis, etc. if required


Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure safety measures are necessarily followed by the team and take initiative to enhance acceptance of safety
  • Report and prepare RCAs (Rot cause analysis) in case of accidents
  • Ensure all contract workers are adequately trained with respect to EHS
  • Ensure compliance to the norms under ISO, OHSAS and any other standards as applicable from time to time
  • Ensure all required documentation and certifications are in order in compliance with various norms
  • Participate in internal and external audits and provide the required support


MIS & Reporting

  • Maintain a proper report regarding all the mechanical breakdowns.
  • Maintain a proper report regarding all the mechanical preventive measures activities, utility consumption like diesel, transformer and electricity
  • Keep a track on inventories and spare parts and keep updating it as per utilization
  • Monitor and keep a track on machine efficiency and asset utilization
  • Support Head Engineering in managing AMC for all the equipment including like AC, CTP Room, Printer, DG Set etc. is maintained
