Our client a leading Conglomerate, is looking to hire a Director Legal for their new businesses. This role would be based out of Delhi. He/She will provide strategic legal support to business units, senior management, and the board.
Job Responsibility:
- Advise and guide the leadership team on a wide range of legal matters including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial contracts, compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of a variety of commercial agreements, including procurement, supplier, and partnership contracts.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks across the organization by proactively identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
- Ensure corporate governance standards are adhered to, maintaining strong compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Represent the company in disputes, liaising with external counsels, and managing litigation or arbitration proceedings.
- Develop, implement, and enforce legal and compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
- Provide training to internal teams on legal and compliance-related matters to foster awareness and understanding.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, business partners, legal authorities, and external counsels.
- Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Standardisation of contracte & corporate policies
Qualifications & Skills :
Educational Qualifications :
- LLB from a top/reputed law school; additional qualifications such as LLM or CS would be a plus.
Experience :
- 15-16 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate legal role, preferably within the automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors. Extensive experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and compliance.
- Experience in managing legal teams and interacting with senior business leadership.
- Prior experience working in or advising multinational corporations and large organizations is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and align legal strategies with business objectives. In-depth knowledge of Indian and international corporate law, including regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record in managing complex legal matters and resolving disputes efficiently.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving
