Job Description

Strategic Development and Expansion

2. Capacity Planning

• Objective : Ensure scalability and performance of the network infrastructure.

• Action : Conduct traffic analysis and forecast future network capacity needs.

• Deliverables : Capacity planning reports with recommendations for infrastructure upgrades.

3. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams

• Objective : Align network plans with business objectives.

• Action : Regularly meet with stakeholders from various departments to understand their needs.

• Deliverables : Minutes from collaboration meetings, updated network plans reflecting business requirements.


Network Architecture and Topology Design


4. Design Network Architecture

• Objective : Create network architectures that meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.

• Action : Develop detailed network diagrams and design documentation.

• Deliverables : Network architecture diagrams and design documents.

5. Evaluation of Emerging Technologies

• Objective : Recommend solutions to enhance the network infrastructure.

• Action : Review and test new technologies proposed by vendors.

• Deliverables : Technology evaluation reports and recommendation documents.


Configuration and Deployment


6. Configure and Deploy Network Equipment

• Objective : Deploy routers, switches, firewalls, and other security devices.

• Action : Configure and install network equipment with a focus on CGNAT and IPSec functions.

• Deliverables : Configuration files, deployment schedules, and completion reports.

7. Network Upgrades and Optimization

• Objective : Support evolving business needs and enhance network security.

• Action : Perform regular upgrades and optimizations.

• Deliverables : Upgrade plans, optimization reports, and updated network configurations.


Integration and Security


8. Integrate Security Solutions

• Objective : Protect the network against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

• Action : Implement security measures such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

• Deliverables : Security solution deployment plans and implementation reports.

9. Troubleshooting Complex Network Issues

• Objective : Resolve complex network problems.

• Action : Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and fix network issues.

• Deliverables : Incident reports and troubleshooting logs.

10. Compliance and Quality Standards

• Objective : Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

• Action : Regularly review network compliance with regulations.

• Deliverables : Compliance audit reports and quality assessment documents.


Operational Management


11. Manage Day-to-Day Network Operations

• Objective : Oversee the daily operations of the core IP network, including upgrades, integration of new elements, monitoring, maintenance, and incident response.

• Action : Supervise and manage daily operations, perform updates, monitor, and intervene in case of issues.

• Deliverables : Monitoring reports, maintenance logs, and incident response reports.

12. Develop Procedures for Network Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Objective : Develop and implement procedures for network performance monitoring and optimization.

• Action : Create performance monitoring processes and optimization plans.

• Deliverables : Monitoring procedures, performance reports, and optimization plans.

13. Contribute to On-Call Team

• Objective : Contribute to the on-call team for the IP Core domain, on a weekly rotation with the team for 24/7/365 support.

• Action : Ensure availability as a member of the on-call team to respond to emergencies.

• Deliverables : On-call intervention reports and emergency support documents.

14. Implement and Manage Network Security Measures

• Objective : Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, DDoS protection systems, and secure access controls.

• Action : Install and configure security devices and monitor their effectiveness.

• Deliverables : Security configuration reports and system effectiveness documentation.


Security Management


Development and Implementation of Security Policies


1. Objective : Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices.

• Action : Draft security policies and ensure their implementation.

• Deliverables : Security policy documents and implementation reports.

2. Regular Security Assessments

• Objective : Conduct regular security assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

• Action : Perform security audits and vulnerability tests.

• Deliverables : Security assessment reports and risk mitigation plans.

3. Collaboration with Salt Security Team

• Objective : Ensure comprehensive protection against threats and respond to security incidents.

• Action : Collaborate with the Salt security team to coordinate incident responses and enhance security.

• Deliverables : Collaboration reports with the security team and incident response documentation.


Requirements

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree is advantageous.

• Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience with IP networks, emphasizing practical expertise and a concentration on network security.

• Certifications: Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, or their equivalents is highly valued.

• Network Expertise: Demonstrated experience in network planning, design, and operations.

• Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of IP networking concepts, protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), and services is essential.

• Security Skills: Proficiency in network security technologies and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, CGNAT, and encryption techniques.

• Tools Proficiency: Experience with network monitoring and management tools like Wireshark, Librenms, Grafana, Telegraph, and Nagios.

• Automation Skills: Familiarity with automation and scripting languages such as Python and Ansible is an added advantage.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in diagnosing complex network issues.

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• Language Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory. Proficiency in French and German is a plus.


Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Proven experience with a minimum of 10 years as a Solutions Architect or a similar role. - Strong understanding of enterprise-level IT architectures, systems, and technologies. - Very good knowledge of CRM solutions and associated functions (sales management, product catalog, offer management, e-shop, service provisioning, care, self-care, billing, invoicing). Knowledge in MS Dynamics or Salesforce is a plus. - Good knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, security, database systems, and API/REST services design. - Proficiency in using architecture modeling tools and methodologies. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Experience with an internet service provider. - Strong understanding of enterprise network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VoIP, VPBX, and cloud-based architectures. - Strong understanding of end-to-end processes (from offer to cash, etc.). - Hands-on mentality. - Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools. - Familiarity with agile development methodologies and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence. - Very good oral and written communication in English. French and German are a plus.
