We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carrier Ethernet & IP Network Technology Expert to join our dynamic team.


Job Description - Carrier Ethernet & IP Network Technology Expert (Adva Products)

We need a technical expert to lead and deliver specialist Carrier Ethernet & Provider Edge routing architecture, design, development, test and deployment with Adva product experience.

Essential Skills

Acknowledged expert in Carrier Ethernet and IP network technology domains in telecommunications.

8+ years demonstrable experience covering infrastructure (ADVA (Adtran) Optiswitch Z4806, OS-v8, Adtran NMS ProVision/ENC) in the capacity of architecture, design, and engineering.

A resource who acts as a channel to ADVA, working in making the roadmaps for optimizing the network. The mission wants to have Network Development Capability, leading the project from Network design to Test till Deployment, managing the Engineering activities.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Design, Integration, Configuration and Testing of MEF compliant Carrier Ethernet Services E-Line, E-Lan, E-Tree, E-Access Services (Telstra WIP/EVO products), L2VPN and L3VPN Services.
  • Expert knowledge of Network Engineering including:

OSI Layers, TCP/IP protocol suite

Network protocols (eg MPLS-TP, Segment Routing, OSPF, ISIS, Carrier Ethernet, PDH/SDH, Microwave Transmission, LDP, BGP, VPLS, VPWS, IPVPN, EVPN, Ethernet, PTP, SyncE, Telemetry, VLAN, Service OAM)

  • Pre-Deployment Progression/Regression L2/L3 Network Layer Testing including networking performance, convergence, scalability, and stress testing utilizing test suites.
  • Write/Update Design Documents, Engineering Method-of-Procedure (MoPs)
  • Collaborating with vendors R&D team for bug resolution and addition of new product features
  • Responsible for raising network defects to engineering design stakeholders and architects, collaborating on problem resolution.
  • Test Suites such as IXIA (IxNetwork)
  • Basic Automation skills (Python)
  • Sound technical knowledge of Provider Edge (PE) networks.
  • Sound understanding of technology lifecycle and how it is managed. Sound understanding of solution delivery lifecycle.
  • Sound understanding of Operational issues and how to manage.
  • Network packet queuing (QoS, CoS, Hierarchical QoS)

Proven ability in delivering Network Engineering outcomes.

Contribution to developing strategy.

Engaging and influencing stakeholders.

  • MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional (CECP)
  • Skilled in the DevOps framework and pipeline
  • Coding experience highly desired - python, ansible, JavaScript, bash
  • Experience coding with API based solutions.
  • Coding experience – golang, java, perl, c, c++, c#, etc
  • Experience working with virtualization – Containers & VMs
  • Skilled in working with Linux based operating systems.
