We are seeking a skilled and motivated UNIX System Administrator to join our telecom operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining UNIX systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of UNIX systems, network infrastructure, and the specific needs of the telecom industry.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain UNIX servers, ensuring their availability and performance.
Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary patches and updates.
Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Automation: Create scripts to automate routine tasks, streamline processes, and improve system efficiency.
User Support: Provide technical support to internal users and troubleshoot any issues related to UNIX systems.
Network Management: Collaborate with network administrators to ensure seamless integration of UNIX systems within the network infrastructure.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
Compliance: Ensure systems comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with UNIX operating systems (e.g., AIX, Solaris, ).
Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python).
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Familiarity with network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Good Knowledge of security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection)
Qualifications:
Industry experience focused on IP networks. 7+ Years of Networking experience.
A computer science (or similar) degree.
Experience of deploying software, codes on UNIX environment, configurations and troubleshooting.
