Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
Monitor database performance, tune queries, and ensure high availability.
Implement and manage database backups, recovery, replication, and failover strategies.
Manage access control, roles, and permissions to ensure data security.
Plan and implement database migrations, upgrades, and patching.
Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools.
Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and data teams on schema design and deployment
processes.
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement RESTful APIs for secure and
efficient data access and manipulation.

  • Implement data validation, transformation, and security protocols in APIs to ensure integrity
    and confidentiality of sensitive data.
    Monitor API usage and performance, and tune database queries and structures to enhance
    throughput and reduce latency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
6-10 years of experience as a DBA or in a similar role.
Proficient in relational database systems: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, or Oracle.
Experience with database monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
Familiar with backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
Understanding of data security, encryption, and access control best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, Redis).

Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) configurations
