Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Pune, India based Derivative Reconciliation Manager to join our Derivative Operations department in Global Technology & Operations.

Team/Group Description

The Derivatives Operations Department is primarily responsible for the trade management and controls of both standard and complex OTC Derivative activity across Rates, Credit, Equity and FX. As a critical member of Derivative Operations, a Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for the strict control of trades and for liaising with both internal and external contacts, escalating to management where appropriate. The reconciliation team works independently from the Front Office and is key to the control of the business, ensuring the highest level of quality is achieved at all times. The candidate will work closely with senior management across Trading, Sales, Technology, Operations, Audit and Compliance. In this role one should be familiar with various OTC derivative products, proficient with PC skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Role Description

The Manager of Derivative Reconciliations will perform an oversee the daily reconciliation of cash and positions for various OTC derivative instruments including Rates, Credit, Equity and FX. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the data, resolving any discrepancies, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. You will also play a key role in enhancing the systems and processes to improve efficiency and quality.

Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Manage a team of analysts who perform daily reconciliation of cash and positions for derivatives, including equities, fixed income, OTC, and collateral.
  • Review and approve reconciliations, reports, and controls, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or breaks, and escalate as needed.
  • Liaise with traders, prime brokers, fund accounting, front & middle offices, and IT teams to coordinate and resolve any operational matters.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Lead and participate in projects and initiatives to improve the systems and workflows, and implement best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and metrics, and provide feedback and recommendations
  • Responsible for escalating issues to management, trading, etc. as necessary

Qualifications, Experience, Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in derivative operations, reconciliation, or accounting, preferably in an asset management firm.
  • Strong knowledge of derivative products, markets, and settlement processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership, management, and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated understanding financial instruments and/or process flows
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Organized, detail-oriented and extremely thorough with strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Team-oriented individual with the ability to work well across diverse groups in a collaborative, dynamic
