Job Purpose
GTB Channels Product Owner plays a crucial role in developing digital products that align with both user experience and business requirements. The Channels Product Owner (PO) role will have overall accountability and ownership of building, developing, enhancing and solutioning the Wholesale Banking channels proposition such as Web (NEO Corporate), APIs, Mobile, Host to Host (H2H), SWIFTnet and Third party connectivity solutions for Cash and Trade products. The incumbent will be responsible to build digital solutions in close collaboration with GTB Product (Cash and Trade) and CIBG Technology. Key part of the job will be to gather requirements, writing use cases, user stories, Business Requirement Documents (BRD), development roadmaps, maintain the backlog, roll out functionalities, implement user-centric design methodology and support key client mandates through digital channels. The role requires strong understanding of digital connectivity requirements, channels solutions for Payments, Collections and Trade Finance products & processes such as online banking platforms, SWIFT, APIs etc.
Key ResponsibilitiesChannel product development –
Develop GTB channel proposition by implementing user-centric design methodologies, own backlog and work with the Product managers, PMO office to ensure customer connectivity and channel solutions are prioritized and abide by the specifications and expectations as set by Product Management, Regulators, and Clients working environments.
Execute Channel Strategy
– know the market landscape and key drivers, target market and client segments, build channel connectivity and capability , and track the usage w.r.t. client adoption, functional utilization, digital penetration, volumes/revenues flow through channels, capability assessment and continuous improvement in channel offerings.
Drive Digital Innovation
– establish processes and checkpoints to identify opportunities to develop new products and enhance existing channel solutions, based on market/sales feedback, client needs and/or regulatory changes. Priorities' the development pipeline based on a sound commercial assessment of each opportunity and review the quality of investment plans before the team seeks formal approvals. Define the future roadmap for an Enhanced Value Proposition (EVP) to stay ahead of the market and position Mashreq as the leading innovator in the region.Commercialese Digital Propositions
– lead a commercialization efforts for each channel solutions, develop marketing/sales materials, product training for Sales and Coverage and client education events. Track and monitor execution of these plans through regular reviews and identify any issues where help is required to remove roadblocks.

–ensure highest channel product quality and client usability, ensure all enhancement value is captured and agreed by proudest management
Expertise
- Domain knowledge in Corporate Banking Digital Channels, User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) along with Transaction Banking products such as Cash Management, Payments, Trade and Supply Chain with meaningful exposure to digital transformation and client implementations.Collaborate with Product Management
– ensure the scope of each channels product build/enhancement is clearly defined in relevant Business Requirements Documents or user stories and touch base with Product Managers to ensure product inputs are provided and support key deliverables such as the development of test cases, standard operating procedures, and product implementation guides

Engage directly with senior stakeholders in Sales, Services, C;ient Experience, Operations, Service, Technology, Risk, Legal and Compliance to ensure they are supporting key improvement initiatives.

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships
There is increasing innovation in Digital banking and services including the development of API strategies where tighter integration to client eco systems is the trend. At the same time existing clearing systems are undergoing significant technological changes with the adoption of ISO20022XML messages replacing traditional SWIFT MT messages, the adoption of instant payments in many jurisdictions, new interconnections between different clearing systems (sometimes across countries), and the evolution of these clearing systems as the rails behind alternative payment methods.Against this backdrop, channel management services are highly regulated and subject to strict anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and sanctions related regulations across all jurisdictions. Ensuring the development and growth of these products and services does not breach these various regulatory requirements is critical.Balancing compliance concerns with product innovation is a balancing act that this role needs to manage whilst also driving faster growth in liabilities and revenues.Critical to achieving this balance is the management of the channel products and competing issues whilst not losing sight of the end goals – innovating and growing the GTB business.From a stakeholder perspective, it will be critical to engage and influence partners from Product, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Technology and Operations in order to keep driving the channel product development agenda whilst also working closely with Sales and Coverage to commercialese products and deliver revenues.
