Learn more at responsive.io.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Technical Writer Manager with a strong background in product documentation. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical writing. The ideal candidate will manage and mentor a team of technical writers while also contributing to the creation and maintenance of high-quality product documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our documentation is clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly.Essential ResponsibilitiesExhibits proficiency in writing technical documents, User instructions and UI writingProduce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audienceCollaborate directly with product managers, developers, and UX/UI designers to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of the content.Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guidesCreate tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applicationsAnalyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunitiesCreate and maintain the information architectureReview and edit documentation produced by the team to ensure consistency in tone, style, and quality.Lead and mentor the team of technical writers and planning & managing their daily workMaintaining, organizing, improving, and updating the existing technical documentationEstablish and maintain style guides, templates, and best practices for technical documentation across the organization.Conduct regular content audits to ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and relevant.Gather and analyze feedback from users and internal stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Support, and Marketing, to ensure alignment in documentation efforts.Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and workflows for increased efficiency and quality.Drive the adoption of new technologies and practices that enhance the creation, management, and delivery of documentation.EducationAny Bachelor Degree (Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred)Experience8 to 13 years’ experience in a related roleProven working experience in UX writing for SAAS product companies.Experience in creating and managing API documentation.Experience managing a team of Technical WritersKnowledge, Ability & SkillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeExcellent writing, editing, and communication skillsAbility to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail for a global audienceAbility to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and picturesProven ability to create volumes of content needed to match strategic goalsAbility to quickly synthesize new technology and present it in a concise, meaningful mannerAdaptable and self-motivatedGood organizational and time-management skillsAbility to effectively multitask and work well under pressure
