Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safe Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team. The RTE will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the Agile Release Train (ART) processes, coordinating with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to deliver value. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate ART Processes and Execution:
- Plan and facilitate PI (Program Increment) Planning events, including pre- and post-PI planning meetings.
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators.
- Track the execution of features and capabilities.
- Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level.
- Coordinate and Communicate with Stakeholders:
- Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risks, and drive relentless improvement.
- Ensure alignment of the ART with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with other RTEs and ensure inter-ART collaboration.
- Support and Coach Agile Teams:
- Provide guidance to teams on Agile best practices, ensuring adherence to SAFe principles.
- Mentor and coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other team members.
- Foster a Lean-Agile mindset and lead by example.
- Improve ART Performance:
- Drive continuous improvement through Inspect and Adapt workshops.
- Collect and analyze metrics to improve the performance and predictability of the ART.
- Implement improvement actions based on retrospective outcomes and performance metrics.
- Ensure Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure the ART adheres to the defined standards and practices.
- Collaborate with Quality and Compliance teams to integrate quality practices into the ART workflow.
- Facilitate regular ART sync meetings to ensure continuous alignment and progress.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Agile environment, with at least 2 years as a Release Train Engineer.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale Agile transformations.
- Deep understanding of the SAFe framework and its application in a large organization.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Agile project management tools (, Jira, Rally).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) is required; additional SAFe certifications are a plus.
